Today is the last day of classes for my cohort in Osgoode Hall's LL.M program in Labour Relations and Employment Law. It's been a fantastic experience that I've thoroughly enjoyed. The faculty, students, and staff associated with the program were all amazing. I've learned a tremendous amount throughout the courses and have gained a lot of skill in how to think about the structure of workplace laws.
A big thank you is in order for the Co-Directors of the program, Dr. David Doorey and Heenan Blaikie's John Craig, who put together a great curriculum; furthermore, a congratulations is in order for Michael Lynk who won an Osgoode Teaching Award after delivering a brilliant set of lectures in his course on the role of the Charter and human rights in Canadian labour law.
I know that I have a bit of following among labour law types, so if you're considering options for an advanced academic program I would highly recommend taking this LL.M. It's a large commitment to undertake while working, but one that's well worth the sacrifice given the quality of teaching. The next cohort is starting in January 2013 and this time you'll be able to video conference into the courses remotely. Most of the faculty are returning and Alan Bogg, a labour law scholar from Oxford, has been added to the teaching roster. If you have any questions about the program from a student perspective please drop me a note.
