Generation Squeeze Event Tonight in Toronto

Generation Squeeze is a organization devoted to drawing attention to issues of intergenerational equity in Canada. They focus on the the high cost of living, the spending imbalances, and structural labour market issues that places Generation X and Generation Y at a disadvantage and what policy solutions exist to rectify these inequities.

Tonight (November 22, 2013) in Toronto Generation Squeeze is launching the Echo Blog. The blog is being curated by a talented team from Ontario and aims to put issues relevant to younger Canadians onto the mainstream agenda. The launch event kicks-off at 7:00 p.m. at the Monarch Tavern in Little Italy and there are a number of excellent speakers lined up: Paul Kershaw (Generation Squeeze); Sarah Blackstock (YWCA); Lekan Olawoye (Premier's Council on Youth Opportunities); Peter MacLeod (WageMark); and, Zahra Ebrahim (archiTEXT).

The event is going to be a great start to launching a conversation about issues important to youths and need for a higher levels of intergenerational equity. If you have any interest these issues I encourage you to come out tonight. For an overview of the Generation Squeeze campaign, take a look at this interview that I did with Paul Kershaw earlier this year or watch the video below.
