Why is TD getting employment equity right?

Without benchmarking, accountability, and targets employment equity remains an ideal rather than a reality. Organizations need to know where they've been, where to go, and effective planning to get there. At a time when gender discrimination and unequal pay still remain rampant in society proper planning is need to enact and make real ideals of equality. Here's an interesting article about the Toronto-Dominion Bank that reviews the approach that has been taken to address employment equity, it's excellent and contains an extensive interview with Ed Clark, the CEO, discussing the steps they've taken.
