Research Participants Needed for McMaster Studies on Precarious Work

I'm quite busy these days with various endeavours, but I wanted to do a quick blog post to highlight two interesting research projects coming out of McMaster University which need research participants. Both research projects are important in tracing the growing levels of precarity in Ontario's labour market.

The first project comes is the Poverty and Employment Precarity in Southern Ontario ("PEPSO"), which is joint research project from United Way Toronto and McMaster University. PEPSO put out the landmark study "It's More than Poverty" last year and it has been instrumental in putting precarious employment onto the political agenda in Ontario. PEPSO is currently looking to interview people who have done internships in the GTA, so if you have ever done an internship outside of school and live in Ontario then please get in contact with Professor Wayne Lewchuk or Anthony Tambureno. Also, please share this request for participants with anyone you know who might fit the above criteria.

The second project is from Nancy Worth, a post-doctoral researcher focusing on social geography, who is exploring the experiences of young women in how work fits into their lives. I recently had the chance to discuss this research project with Dr. Worth and it fascinating and sorely needed. She's looking for people to interview and to complete a questionnaire, so if you're a Canadian women born between 1980 and 1990 do consider participating. Here's an interview with Dr. Worth in the Calgary Herald discussing how women's work in undervalued among the millennial generation.
