Queen's launches new centre to study the modern workplace
This week Queen's University launched the Centre for Law in the Contemporary Workplace with a grant from the Law Foundation of Ontario and the backing of prominent labour law academics and practitioners. Employment and labour law is an exciting field with no shortage of areas that demand examination. Over the past couple decades in the context of law school curriculum and course offerings areas related to employment, labour, and domestic human rights law have fallen by the wayside. At present very few programs exist in Canada at the graduate level where students can study and learn from experts in these areas, this is problematic as labour relations and employment law experts are in high demand.
